Resilience Announces the Retirement of Christina Scarpino, Danielle Evans Promoted to Director of Advancement

After more than two decades of dedicated service in supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence, Christina Scarpino, our esteemed Development Director, is retiring! Christina has spent 23 years championing the needs of survivors, with the past eight years at Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence, where her leadership, passion, and commitment have left a lasting impact.

Before joining Resilience, Christina dedicated 15 years as Development Director at our sister agency, Every Woman’s Place in Muskegon. Her career has been a profound act of service, fostering safer, healthier communities through her steadfast dedication to survivor support. As Christina steps into this well-deserved chapter, we extend our deepest gratitude for the extraordinary impact she has had on this field and our organization.

Reflecting on her career, Christina shares: “This work has been a labor of love, both personally and professionally. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to partner with you to create safer, healthier communities.”


Introducing Danielle Evans, Director of Advancement

As part of this transition, we are excited to announce the promotion of Danielle Evans to the newly envisioned role of Director of Advancement. This position reflects the growing scope of Resilience’s mission, encompassing not only fundraising and development but also donor stewardship, strategic communications, and deeper community engagement.

Danielle (she/her) has been a vital part of Resilience since 2015, beginning as an advocate and transitioning to the Development Department in 2018. Over the past nine years, she has demonstrated exceptional creativity, vision, and expertise, driving impactful initiatives that have expanded Resilience’s reach and strengthened its foundation.

In addition to her external work, Danielle has played a key role in fostering internal collaboration through various committees, advancing Resilience’s mission from within. Her leadership was recognized statewide as a member of the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence’s inaugural Emerging Leaders Cohort in 2018.

Danielle holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership, which she applies daily in her work to create thriving, equitable communities. In her new role, Danielle will guide Resilience into its next phase of growth, enhancing its mission through innovative fundraising, meaningful donor relationships, and strengthened community partnerships.

Danielle shares: “I am honored to continue this important work in my new role. Christina’s legacy is an inspiration, and I look forward to building on her incredible contributions to further Resilience’s mission.”
