may baskets campaign

Each year throughout the month of May, we collect donations of personal care and household products to create May Baskets – a laundry basket filled with cleaning products, household supplies, and goodies for families using our services. This campaign helps to offset the expense of these taxable items, which cannot be purchased with public assistance such as WIC or EBT. May Baskets are a way of giving survivors a sense of renewed hope and a feeling that their community cares for them and their children. Last year, we received enough donations to provide May Baskets to all 93 families that requested them!

Even with our program offices currently closed, we will still be collecting donations for our May Baskets Campaign and distributing baskets to survivors. Safety is of the utmost importance, and we have outlined a process that allows us to collect donations while maintaining social distancing regulations.

Here are ways you can get involved with May Baskets:

1. Amazon May Basket Wish List: Provide a May Basket without having to leave your home! Through Amazon’s Charity Wish List program, you can easily shop for requested items and have them delivered directly from Amazon to Resilience’s Program Office. Click here to purchase items from our Wish List.

2. Bring your donations to our program office with a no-contact delivery: If you have new items at home to donate or would rather not shop online, beginning May 18th, we will be accepting May Baskets donations through a no-contact delivery method. Simply leave your donation in the entry vestibule of our Holland Program Office (411 Butternut Dr., Monday-Friday, 9AM – 5PM) and our staff will collect, sanitize, and distribute your donations!

3. Donate Online: Don’t have time to shop, but want to give back? Monetary donations ensure that we are always able to provide survivors with what they need, when they need it. Donate on our website by clicking here.

rise: our first virtual fundraiser & auction

Last year, our two largest annual fundraisers – 28th Annual Reach for the Stars and 17th Annual Le Style de Vie – raised a total of $117,000 to provide crucial services for survivors of abuse in our community. As you know, we were unable to host Reach in April, and our Board has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Le Style de Vie in an abundance of precaution. Without these fundraisers, our agency will surely be impacted.

We are proud to announce Rise, our first virtual fundraiser and auction.

This free event will take place online Monday, July 27 – Friday, July 31 and will include videos that highlight our prevention programs and collaborative work with the Survivor Advisory Council. You’ll hear firsthand how COVID-19 has had an impact on local survivors.

Of course, our event wouldn’t be complete without an auction! Bid on silent auction items, win raffle prizes, purchase Resilience gear and gift cards to local establishments, and more!

With your help, we need to raise $100,000 to continue providing essential supportive and prevention services in our community.
