The holiday season is just around the corner!

At Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence, we believe every family deserves a joyful and empowering holiday experience. This year, our Holiday Gift Shop has been redesigned to center the needs and choices of the families we serve, while still offering donors a meaningful way to give. We’ve shifted from the traditional Adopt-a-Family model to a more inclusive, empowering shopping experience. Families now have autonomy to choose gifts for their kids, ensuring they can select items that truly bring joy to their holiday.

What’s new?

We have updated our Holiday program to better meet the needs of our families. Here’s how it works:

Open All December: Our Holiday Gift Shop will be open throughout December, giving families the opportunity to select the gifts that resonate most with them and their loved ones.

Gift Selection and Wishlists: Donors can choose from general or specific wishlists to provide gifts, or organize drives with their workplace, community group, or personally. This allows us to support more families and create a more joyful holiday for all.

Gift Wrapping Flexibility: Instead of pre-wrapping, parents can wrap gifts at our on-site wrapping station or take supplies home. This approach allows families to see the gifts ahead of time and celebrate the season on their terms.

Focus on Holiday Cheer: Our Holiday Gift Shop helps families experience the joy of the season by choosing gifts that bring comfort and happiness – whether that’s a special toy, cozy clothes, or a household essential that makes life easier.

Community Involvement: We welcome individuals, families, groups, and corporations to participate. Every donation helps bring the magic of the holidays to families in a meaningful way.

Important Dates for the Shop

Gift Drop-Off Deadline: We prefer for donations to be dropped off to our Holland Program Office by Tuesday, November 25th if possible to prepare for our Dec 1st opening, but we will accept items through December 15th to keep the shop stocked!
