Master’s-level clinicians work with adult and teen survivors of domestic and sexual violence and use age-specific interventions with children who have been impacted by domestic violence. In individual and group settings, therapists work to help survivors increase feelings of safety, reduce trauma symptoms, and identify positive coping strategies. All therapy is completely free and confidential.

Common Fears About Starting Therapy

Initiating therapy can often feel like an intimidating or even scary experience. In fact, not only is it normal for people to be nervous about starting therapy- it’s expected! The following are common fears people have regarding reaching out to a therapist for assistance.

  • Fear of stigma or asking for help
  • Fear of being vulnerable
  • Fear of having to make a long term commitment to therapy
  • Fear that therapy won’t help
  • Fear of the cost
